Apaak “prays” against NDC lawmakers who supported Akufo-Addo’s cabinet members.

Dr. Clement Apaak, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) representative for Builsa South, is upset with some of his party’s members who disobeyed clear party directives and cast large numbers of votes for the six new ministers named by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He prayed against those people, claiming they deserted the party and humiliated the NDC and the Minority.

On Facebook, he posted the remarks.

“Oh you traitor, I hope you are exposed and publically humiliated, but even if you are not, your conscience will follow you wherever. Millions of Ghanaians and party followers have suffered because of your treachery, and your head is now being held high for it. You will be made to pay for the misery and grief of everyone you betrayed. Dr. Apaak wrote on his Facebook page, “You will pay for the insults, name calling, and false accusations your treachery has brought upon innocent colleagues.

Background

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) had earlier asked all of its MPs not to support the ratification of the nominations following the President’s appointment of six new ministers and the subsequent screening of those candidates.

The goal was to pressure President Akufo-Addo into drastically reducing the size of his administration.

But on March 24, following a secret vote, all of the nominees were confirmed thanks to large margins of support.

The results of the vote on Friday show that a number of Minority members supported the ministerial nominees.

The Minority MPs have come under fire from some NDC members for supporting the new ministers.
