Asake Wins Best African Artiste at the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards
Nigerian singer and songwriter Asake has been announced as the winner of the Best African Artiste award at the 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards held on June 26, 2022, at the Grand Arena in Accra, Ghana. Asake was nominated alongside some of the biggest names in African music including Burnaboy, Kizz Daniel, and Ayra Star.
Asake, who rose to fame with his hit song “Mr Money” featuring Zlatan Ibile, has been making waves across Africa with his unique sound and style. He expressed his gratitude for the award and thanked his fans for their support.
“I’m honored and grateful to have received this award. It’s a great feeling to be recognized for my work in Ghana, a country that has always shown me so much love and support. I would like to thank my fans for their unwavering support and everyone who voted for me. This award is for you,” Asake said.
The Best African Artiste category recognizes the outstanding contributions of African musicians to the music industry. The Therapist from Côte d’Ivoire, Kizz Daniel from Nigeria, and Libianca from Angola were also nominated for the award.
The 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards celebrated the best of Ghanaian music over the past year, with performances from some of the biggest names in the industry. The event was attended by industry stakeholders, musicians, and music lovers from across the continent.
