Date for the official announcement and unveiling of UEW SRC interim executives scheduled
With less than a month until the conclusion of the semester, UEW plans to make an official statement about its newly chosen SRC interim executives on Monday, April 3rd, 2023.
Five executive members have been officially designated as interim executives to lead the SRC until difficulties with the electoral process are rectified.
The Registrar and her colleagues made the appointment and brought it to the Local Assembly for approval on March 24, 2023, which the L. A strenuously resisted, but management got its way.
All things being equal, the present GRASAG president, Mr. Ransford Samovie, has been tipped to be the next SRC interim president.
The interlocutory case is still hanging around the university’s neck, preventing it from holding elections to elect SRC executives on October 4, 2022.
On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, one Emmanuel Annobil, his running companion Amos Effum, and Miss Caroline of Aggrey Hall petitioned the court for an injunction on UEW SRC elections due to their disqualification.
Eugene Laryea Odai (EC), the Dean of Student Affairs, and the University of Education, Winneba were named as defendants in their application.
The court ordered that the defendants in their claim be changed from those listed to one entity, in this case, University, which will require only a signature to make the out-of-court settlement lawful tender.
As of currently, no progress has been achieved since the last update.
