From August 1 to August 3, 2024, the Electoral Commission will conduct a mop-up voter registration campaign.
The commission states that the purpose of the mop-up effort is to provide a means of identification for individuals who turned 18 after the limited voter registration period and for those who did not participate in the registration process.
In addition, the commission has scheduled a voter exhibition for August 20–27.
When the Election Security Taskforce, headed by Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffu Dampare, visited the commission to inform them on the election security performance in the first half of the year, Jean Mensa, the chairperson of the electoral commission, made this known.
“I would like to record that the mop-up of the voter registration exercise is scheduled for August 1–3, 2024. Its purpose is to provide eligible individuals—those who turned 18 after May 29 or those who have never registered—the chance to join our register,” she said.
