Election 2024: My NPP friends secretly want their party to lose – Mahama

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has disclosed that many NPP followers are quietly advocating for the party’s dissolution in the general elections of 2024.
He claims that a lot of NPP members think a small group of people are taking over the nation at the expense of the majority.
According to Mr. Mahama, these unhappy NPP members are demanding his return to the president so the party can restructure.
Speaking to party supporters over the weekend while on a visit of the Upper East, the NDC flagbearer said, “In Ghana, a small family has captured everything; it is not the NPP.” Therefore, I can tell you that a lot of my NPP friends approach me and tell me, “NDC, you need to work hard and remove our party from power.”
These individuals identify as NPP members because a select few have taken control of the party. This isn’t the NPP of Kufuor. This is not the same NPP. Some have taken control of it, and as a result, the Democrats and other NPP members want the party to lose. so that they may regroup and go back into resistance.
He likened Ghana’s economic plight to that of other African nations, calling it “worse off.”
“A large number of Nigerians are participating in public protests. You may have heard of Kenya, where young people are staging protests in response to a lack of opportunity. It’s worse in Ghana,” he said.
