Husband kills wife over cooking argument.

Last Thursday, an unidentified husband allegedly murdered his wife in the Olota area of Lagos’ Alimosho Local Government Area for failing to cook his lunch.
PUNCH Metro learned that the problem began when the husband, who was alleged to have returned from work, discovered that his favorite supper had been replaced by noodles.
As a result, PUNCH Metro learned from an eyewitness who did not want to be identified in the media for fear of retaliation that the suspect left the deceased in the house after allegedly hitting her on the crown of her head with a heavy object and beating her to a pulp.
According to the source, the husband was phoned by a neighbor who informed him that his wife was convulsing.
Our correspondent learned that all efforts by the husband and neighbors to get the convulsing wife to the hospital were claimed to have failed because she died midway.
Although our correspondent learned from a police source that the suspect had been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, was not to confirm this at the time the article was submitted.
According to a source at the Meiran Police Division, the suspect was apprehended when the deceased victim’s brother addressed the station about the matter.
“It was the deceased’s brother who came to report the matter,” the person claimed. He said that his sister was murdered by his husband.
“However, no one has come forward to tell us that her husband was the one who killed her.” The husband has been arrested. Panti, the case has already been sent to the State Criminal Investigation Department.”
The police source said it was difficult to establish whether there was evidence indicating the husband killed the wife because the family had buried the corpse.
“There is no indication yet,” the insider added, “but we cannot say that we have stopped investigating.” We shall enable justice to triumph and the district unit to carry out its tasks in order to determine whether or not her husband beat her to death as claimed.
“When we arrived, none of the neighbors were willing to provide us with useful information about this.” It occurred on Thursday. Nobody had come out to testify to the claim or the cause of death until this morning, before we transferred the case to Panti.
“We didn’t notice the woman.” The family had already gone to bury her according to Islamic traditions before they could report to us. Even if the accusation was genuine, the deceased’s father came to the police station and said he had forgiven his son-in-law.
“However, the deceased’s brother insisted that it was the husband who murdered his sister (wife).” He claimed he beat his wife with an item and then locked her in their apartment. He claimed it was a neighbor who called to inform him that his wife was convulsing. She passed away before they could get her to the hospital.”
