More than 13,000 delegates will cast ballots in the Western Region NPP presidential election.

13,715 delegates are anticipated to vote in the New Patriotic Party primaries on Saturday at 21 polling places located among the 17 Western Region seats.

Speaking to Citi News in Sekondi about the party’s preparedness, Oketekyere Amankwa Afrifa, the Western Regional NPP Secretary, stated that each of the four constituencies—Jomoro, Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Amenfi East, and Prestea-Huni-Valley—that have more than a thousand delegates will have two polling places.

“I think we’re all going to go make it lovely. to demonstrate to everyone that the NPP is a well-organized party. I’m hoping that there won’t be any violence or inappropriate behavior in the area.

 

He gave an overview of the logistics of the planning and pointed out that two polling places have been set up in four constituencies—Jomoro, Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Amenfi East, and Prestea-Huni-Valley—all of which have more than a thousand delegates. These locations are meant to serve the large number of voters in each of these constituencies.

“And we have four constituencies—Jomoro, Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Amenfi East, and Prestea-Huni-Valley—that have more than a thousand delegates. These constituencies will each have two polling places.”

But Afrifa stressed how crucial it was that delegates behave responsibly during the seven-hour voting period.

In keeping with contemporary social distance and health norms, he expressly asked people not to cluster around the voting locations.
