Nana Ama McBrown, a popular Ghanaian actress and television host, recently shared her perspective on asking ex-partners for support in an interview with Pulse Ghana. Despite leaving most of her past relationships on good terms, McBrown stated that she would not ask for help from her exes.
“I can’t recall a time when I requested help from my ex. I’m not perfect, and I’m only human, but the majority of my relationships ended pleasantly and really nicely,” she said.
McBrown, who is currently married, pointed out that she has a husband who she can turn to for support if needed. When asked if she would ever consider seeking support from her ex-partners, she replied, “I won’t call my ex for assistance given my current situation. I won’t be happy if I call them. But what about support? Why is my husband there, exactly? My husband exists.”
She went on to explain that even if her husband were unable to assist her, she is capable of taking care of herself. McBrown’s comments suggest that she places a great deal of importance on self-reliance and independence.
The topic of seeking support from ex-partners is a controversial one, with some arguing that it is perfectly acceptable to ask for help from someone who was once close to you, while others believe that it is inappropriate to do so. McBrown’s stance on the matter reflects her belief in taking care of herself and relying on her current relationships for support.
