NDC flagbearer election: Mahama meets with vetting committee
John Dramani Mahama, the former president, met with the party’s vetting committee on Monday morning to be evaluated as a candidate for the NDC flagbearer position.
At the party headquarters in Accra, the prospective flagbearer was accompanied by a few party constituency officials and his supporters.
If John Mahama wins the position, he will be questioned about his views and plans for the party. John Mahama is the first of four candidates to be vetted for the role.
On Tuesday, March 21, former president John Dramani Mahama formally submitted his nomination for the position of flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress.
A group under the direction of Professor Joshua Alabi, the NDC’s 2020 general election campaign manager, filled out his paperwork on his behalf.
While filling out the paperwork, Prof. Alabi asked the NDC delegates to give John Dramani Mahama a 99 percent approval rating in order for him to be the party’s flagbearer.
Former Bank of Ghana Governor Kwabena Duffuor, Ernest Krobeah Asante, and Kojo Bonsu are further contenders in the race.
