Mustapha Gbande, the National Democratic Congress’ deputy general secretary, claims that the minority MPs who supported the cabinet nominees’ confirmation must be dealt with.After many hours of voting, Parliament approved the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s nominations for new ministries.After the process was suspended, the Minority caucus in Parliament urged that vote on President Nana Akufo-Addo’s ministry nominations take place today.The NDC requested that none of its MPs vote in favor of approving the nominees.But despite the absence of three MPs from the governing party in Parliament, all of the nominations were confirmed following a secret ballot.According to the results of the voting on Thursday, a number of Minority members supported the ministerial nominations.The NDC’s deputy general secretary, Mustapha Gbande, wrote on Facebook that “there is a need to launch an intense investigation to get names of those who voted against the minority decision.” Such lawmakers need to be expelled from the House.The clearance suggests that K.T. Hammond, an MP for Adansi Asokwa, has been appointed minister of trade and industry, with Dr. Stephen Amoah, an MP for Nhyiaeso, serving as his deputy.While Stephen Asamoah Boateng serves as the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Bryan Acheampong, the member of parliament for Abetifi, also serves as the substantive Minister for Food and Agriculture.Former Deputy Minister of Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development Mr. Osei Bonsu Amoah, MP for Akuapem South, is now a Minister of State at the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development.The former Deputy Minister of Energy and current Member of Parliament for Karaga, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, is currently a Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance.
