New Chancellor appointed for UEW.
The University of Education, Winneba, has appointed Neenyi Ghartey VII as its new Chancellor. The announcement was made in a statement released by the Acting Registrar, following the recommendation of the Search Committee.
Ghartey, who hails from the Effutu Traditional Area in the Central Region, is a renowned traditional ruler and a respected member of the Ghanaian community. He succeeds the previous Chancellor, Professor Jophus Anamuah-Mensah, whose tenure ended in 2020.
The investiture ceremony for the new Chancellor has been scheduled for Saturday, 15th April, 2023. The ceremony will be a grand affair, and will be attended by dignitaries from all over the country.
In his new role as Chancellor, Ghartey will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the University. He will work closely with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni, and the Governing Council to ensure that the University continues to provide quality education to its students and contributes to national development.
