The Ghana Statistical Service’s 2021 Population and Housing Census revealed the approximate 7.9 million figure.

The 2021 PHC will be the third Population and Housing Census to be held in Ghana, following the five post-independence population censuses conducted in 1960, 1970, 1984, 2000, and 2010, the last two of which included both a population census and a housing census.
