The NPP’s first vice chairman in Offinso South was killed in a horrific tragedy.

Mr. Dauda Afriyie, the First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Offinso South constituency of the Ashanti Region, was tragically killed in a car accident.

Mr. Afriyie was riding a motorcycle from Offinso Old Town to New Town when the event occurred on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, according to eyewitnesses.

Mr. Afriyie is claimed to have attempted to overtake a car that had halted to allow a school bus to turn at a junction.

Mr. Afriyie was overtaking the car when he suddenly discovered there was a school bus ahead and crashed with it, resulting in his untimely death.

Salathiel Kwaku Takyi, the NPP constituency chairperson for Offinso South, confirmed the occurrence to Citi News and expressed deep grief over Mr. Afriyie’s death, noting his substantial contributions to the party over the years.

“The Chairman was riding his motorcycle from Old to New Town.” He passed a vehicle, slowed down, but was hit by an incoming school bus, which drove over him. He truly served the party for almost a decade. “The party has lost a fantastic personality,” he explained.
