Volta Region: 64,000 slabs of suspected marijuana seized at Atikpui

In Atikpui, a border hamlet inside the Ho municipality of the Volta Region, the Customs division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and the Nyive sector Command of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) have together confiscated a total of 64,000 pieces of packs believed to be marijuana.
The confiscated goods were discovered on September 7th, bundled in bags and left in an area of the Atikpui settlement.
According to the GIS, this marijuana haul at the Atikpui Border is the biggest ever. It’s thought that the illegal goods came from nearby Togo.
The Narcotic Control Board will receive the confiscated marijuana for additional examination and potential legal action.
